2011 NFL Draft Profile: Ricky Elmore - Arizona, DE/LB

New, comments

Height: 6-4

Weight: 255lbs

PRO: Very good pass rusher who shows a nice burst off the line of scrimmage. Very productive player with double digit sacks in his final two seasons at Arizona. Has violent hands and shows good power. Sheds his blocks well and puts pressure on the pocket. Has a nice set of developed pass rushing moves already, which will help him greatly at the next level. Might get looks as a stand up pass rusher for some 3-4 or hybrid defensive teams. Very hard worker who holds up against the run despite his size.

CONS: Not a great overall athlete. Despite having better production than his teammate Brooks Reed, will get knocked for having a high profile pass rusher opposite him. Ran a very poor 40 yard dash time at the NFL Combine (4.96) but plays faster than he times. Will need to add some weight to be a 4-3 defensive end and will need to work a lot on dropping into coverage if a team wants to play him at 3-4 outside linebacker. Measurables didn't test well, but he showed up on the field.
