2011 NFL Draft Profile: Ras-I Dowling

Alfie's Player Ranking 45 out of 100
Projected Round: 2-3

Today continues my countdown to the Top 100 draftable players of the 2011 NFL Draft. We move on to my 45th ranked player, Virginia defensive back Ras-I Dowling.

Height: 6-2

Weight: 200lbs

PROS: Great size for the cornerback position. Could double as a combo cornerback/safety for some teams. Uses his size well to get position on receivers and out jump them. Excellent production at Virginia despite being on some bad football teams. Better in zone coverage than in man coverage. Knocks receivers off of their routes and plays very physical.

CONS: Major injury concerns. Missed much of the 2010 season with a multitude of injuries. Pulled out of the Senior Bowl due to an injury. Best fit might be at safety because of concerns with his top-end speed and he struggle in man coverage. Is high in his backpedal and lacks great recovery speed.
