Jaguars host Wisconsin QB Scott Tolzien

The Jacksonville Jaguars had Wisconsin quarterback Scott Tolzien for a private visit today, Big Cat Country has learned. Tolzien was a two year starter for the Wisconsin Badgers and led them to the 2011 Rose Bowl against the TCU Horned Frogs. Tolzien played in a run-heavy offense at Wisconsin, but posted decent numbers in his final season, passing for 2,459 yards, 16 touchdowns, and only 6 interceptions.

Scott Tolzien measured in at 6-2 and 212lbs at the NFL Combine. He's a bit on the short side and currently I have him as an undrafted free agent. I got to see Tolzien up close and personal during the East West Shrine Game week of practices. Tolzien is accurate and knows where to go with the football, but he lacks NFL arm strength. He struggled to put velocity on the football when throwing outs, but he was smart with the football. Tolzien could potentially be a long term back up QB in the NFL. Funny note: Tolzien is also apparently a Jacksonville Jaguars fan.
