Jaguars Host Two Small School Defensive Backs

The Jacksonville Jaguars host two small school defensive backs on Sunday for a pre-draft visit, Big Cat Country has learned. The Jaguars hosted Eastern Washington cornerback Jesse Hoffman and Delaware safety Anthony Bratton Sunday.

Both defensive backs are safety prospects at the NFL level. Anthony Bratton is more in the mold of a traditional strong safety while Jesse Hoffman played corner at Eastern Washington and will likely make the transition more to the free safety position. I have Bratton rated as a potential 6th-7th round draft pick and Hoffman as an undrafted free agent. Neither player was invited to the 2011 NFL Combine, but there were numerous reports that teams left the Delaware Pro-Day impressed with Anthony Bratton's work out, and some felt he might have moved himself into being drafted.

Jesse Hoffman ran in the mid-4.4's in the 40 yard dash while Anthony Bratton ran in the 4.46 range with a 37" vertical leap, 10 foot 6 broad jump, short shuttle in 4.09 seconds, and the three-cone drill in 6.70 seconds.
