Friday Thought Drop

Can you believe that this is the 7th thought drop I've written (as well as the 5th Friday Thought Drop)? I'm watching the NFL network, and they're talking about the top running back tandems in NFL history. It makes me think back to the days of Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew. That was the best backfield the Jaguars have ever had, and at the time, it may have been the best backfield in the NFL. Those were the days. Enough reminiscing though, let's go.

I was under the impression that the 8th Circuit Court would give us a ruling regarding the stay of the lockout, but I haven't heard anything else about it this week. You have to love the efficiency of the courts.

There's been a lot of talk about Mario Williams lately and his transition to an OLB in a 3-4 system. I think the Jaguars are gearing up to switch to the 3-4 too... I'm just kidding guys.

It will be very interesting to see how much playing time Blaine Gabbert gets with the starters once the pre-season games roll around.

When I watch film from old games in the NFL, I realize that today's teams would destroy the teams of the 1970s. Players are bigger, stronger, and faster now, and I have to give credit to today's trainers.

Of course, players weren't payed millions of dollars to play football in the 1960s and 1970s.

I think Jaguars fans might be disappointed once free agency starts. I can imagine the Jaguars picking up some solid players that many casual fans haven't heard from. What separates a good casual fan from a bad one is the level of logic that fan exhibits. This is my plea to all fans. Research a signee before throwing the Jaguars' front office under the bus. I think they deserve that much.

That's all I've got guys. Maybe there'll be some big NFL news next week. Have a great weekend everyone.
