The first Jaguars player made NFL Network's top 100 players of 2011 when Maurice Jones-Drew nabbed the 30 spot. It's highly unlikely that any other Jaguars player will be named in the top 20 that has yet to be released. The list was put together based on the votes of NFL players.
It also appears that Jones-Drew will finish ranked as the league's 4th best running back. Houston's Arian Foster finished 25th while Minnesota's Adrian Peterson and Tennessee's Chris Johnson have yet to be named on the list. Kansas City's Jamaal Charles and St. Louis's Steven Jackson finished just behind MJD in 33rd and 38th, respectively.
The segment on Maurice Jones-Drew was presented by the Jaguars Pro Bowl special teamer and fullback, Montell Owens.
Maurice Jones-Drew was also on the set at NFL Network to talk to Foster about his placement on the list. Interestingly, Foster said during the phone interview with the show that, "right now I think [Jones-Drew] is a better running back than me."
