Teams to Quit on Early

Yesterday I highlighted a few teams from each conference that I thought had a decent shot at making a big splash in the upcoming season. Today, I want to take a look at a few teams that we should cover now, before football starts, because; once it starts, we shouldn't hear their names again until the draft. Let's tackle the teams that can't tackle us (or anyone else for that matter). In a nutshell, this is a projection of the top picks of the 2011 draft.

AFC:

  1. Buffalo Bills
  2. Cincinnati Bengals
  3. Cleveland Browns

Now for the explanation, although I have a feeling one isn't really needed. The Bills showed a lot of heart in 2010, but that won't make up for a lack of talent at the NFL level. The Bengals are the most dysfunctional team... literally. The Browns need a quarterback. The future could be bright in Cleveland, but it's still quite a ways off for them.

NFC:

  1. Carolina Panthers
  2. Minnesota Vikings
  3. Arizona Cardinals

The Panthers are a joke. I'm not a Cam Newton fan, and he'll have to learn how to lose if he wants to survive his first couple of seasons in the NFL. The Vikings mortgaged their future to "win now," which they didn't do. The Cardinals need a quarterback and a defense. Really, they don't run the ball, they throw tons of interceptions, and they don't stop anyone. Is there a better pitch for putting Kurt Warner in the Hall of Fame than that?
