Report: Jaguars Agree to Terms With Blaine Gabbert

The Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to terms with their first round draft pick, quarterback Blaine Gabbert. I just saw him at practice, details on the contract will come later.

Gabbert was drafted 10th overall when the Jacksonville Jaguars traded up six spots with the Washington Redskins to move up. Getting Gabbert in early is key, given the expediated off-season with missed OTA's. Gabbert did have a playbook during the lockout and worked with some of his teammates and attended at least one team organized workout. It will be interesting to see how the kid looks right out of the gate in training camp going forward.

Gabbert is expected to get a good chunk of the reps during training camp and I would expect significant playing time during the pre-season

UPDATE:

Tania Ganguli reports that Gabbert's deal is 4-years for $12 million, fully guaranteed with a 5th year option. Also, Gabbert fumbled his first snap. Rookie jitters.
