Jaguars Training Camp Round Up

Let's take a spin around the internet to see what others are saying about the Jacksonville Jaguars and training camp.

Gabbert has the look of Jacksonville's next big thing - NFL - Football
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Let me start this column by saying it is not another shot at David Garrard. I mean it. Really. It's praise for Blaine Gabbert. What I saw on the Jacksonville Jaguars' practice field Thursday night from Gabbert, the team's top pick in the April draft, is like nothing I've witnessed on any of the Jaguars' practice fields in the 16 years they've been in existence.

Marcedes Lewis: Jaguars investment is well-spent |
Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis lost some sleep the past few nights, worrying about when his contract would be finished. He told his agent, Bus Cook, not to even call him until it was done. Last night at practice, Lewis got the good news and this morning he signed a five-year deal worth $34 million with $17 million guaranteed. Lewis' contract has incentive clauses that can increase its total value to $38 million.

Jaguars are counting on Josh Scobee's legwork |
Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee is looking forward to the team's scrimmage at 7 p.m. today at EverBank Field. "I love the scrimmage," Scobee said. "That's one of the favorite parts of the year. The fans are so excited to be out there and see us, I should say them, hitting pretty hard. It's fun to be able to hit field goals in the stadium because the grass is perfect. ... It's fun to be back in the stadium. I love that stadium."

Jaguars Notebook: Stopping run focus for Clint Session |
As Jaguars linebacker Clint Session sees it, being stout against the run will automatically improve the Jaguars' pass defense. "We want to be a run-stopping defense," Session said.

Already coaching - Jaguars news on
Aaron Kampman swears coaching, particularly in the NFL, isn’t in his future. "I won’t do that to my wife," he said, laughing. A fairly large faction – numerically and physically – of his Jaguars teammates may see his point, but they still figure the veteran defensive end may be missing a calling. At the very least, football would be missing a pretty capable coach.
