It kind of an out of nowhere injury, Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Jason Hill has missed his second consecutive day of practice with a hip injury. Against the Tennessee Titans, Hill ended the day with 4 receptions for 53 yards (13.3 YPC). If Hill can't go against the New York Jets on Sunday, it will make an already shaky passing attack that much shakier. I'm not going to say Hill is a vital part of the Jaguars passing attack, because frankly we still don't know what he is, but one less player to catch passes from Luke McCown certainly isn't going to help. Especially considering the fact that the team could very well be without Marcedes Lewis.
While Mike Thomas had 8 receptions for 55 yards, leading the team, against the Titans... without Hill on the other side, Thomas will draw the majority of the Jets coverage. Starting opposite Thomas if Hill can't go would be either Kassim Osgood, rookie Cecil Shorts III, undrafted free agent Jamar Newsome, or Jarett Dillard who was inactive in week one.
Against the Titans, only four Jaguars players had a reception. Hill and Thomas were the only wide receivers to have one.
