Like the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Tennessee Titans drafted their quarterback of the future. The team took Jake Locker 8th overall while the Jaguars moved up to the 10th spot and drafted Blaine Gabbert. The Jaguars were also very high on Locker, so it must have made them cringe to see him go to a division rival. I noted on draft day, if Locker fell past a certain point, I had heard the Jaguars would consider moving up for him. Turns out they moved up for Gabbert, so it will be interesting to watch each young quarterback develop in division rivals.
I asked Jimmy from Music City Miracles how Locker has looked thus far:
Locker looked a lot better in the preseason than I expected after all of the time he missed because of the lockout. He looks poised and confident. You still see some of the mechanical issues that they want to get fixed, but that is going to take a little bit of time. I think the feel good about him if he has to go into a game, but best case scenario is for him to be able to use 2011 to learn and work some things out.
