Jaguars vs. Titans: Official Prediction

I've gone back and forth how I think this game will go and I've even changed my mind. On Wednesday I went on the Music City Miracles podcast and said I thought the Tennessee Titans would beat the Jacksonville Jaguars by a field goal, currently the line has the Jaguars favored by 1.5 points. Looking at the game closer and considering some of the injuries on the defensive line that the Titans are dealing with however, I'm really starting to like the Jaguars in this game.

There are two big keys for me in this game: Pressure Matt Hasselbeck and protect Luke McCown. I really do think that's what this game will come down to. Hasselbeck is still a solid quarterback in this leage when he's healthy, but he'll fall apart if you can make him uncomfortable and get some shots in early. The Titans have a strong offensive line, but Terrance Knighton and Tyson Alualu should be able to give the Titans interior line some fits by collapsing the pocket from the inside. If the team can't pressure Hasselbeck, he can pick you apart and guys like Kenny Britt will have a field day.

On the Jaguars side, with the Titans likely missing two defensive ends, Luke McCown shouldn't have that rough of a go of it for his first start. While the offensive line has struggled, the Titans pass rush is a big concern for them (the Titans) and they'll need to manufacture pressure from blitzing. If the Titans blitz often, McCown should be able to take advantage of it with some quick passes to Marcedes Lewis and a few screens to Maurice Jones-Drew

Jimmy from Music City Miracles still likes the Titans, however.

I like the Titans in this one. They have a lot of good momentum rolling over from the preseason. Mike Munchak will have the guys ready to play, and this is a game they have to win if they want to be in the hunt.

I like the Jaguars 27, Titans 17.
