In the last 17 games the Jaguars have played, they've won just four times. Three of those wins came against the Indianapolis Colts, but they are the underdog against their AFC South rival for a Week 10 home game after a five-game losing streak. The Colts, alternatively, enter the game after three straight wins and a record-breaking performance by rookie quarterback, Andrew Luck, in Week 9,
With 433 yards passing in Week 9, the first overall selection in the 2012 NFL Draft snapped the record for passing yards in a game by a rookie and led the Colts to a close, 23-20 win over the Dolphins. Making a strong case for the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award, Luck has very similar numbers to Blaine Gabbert in passer rating, completion percentage, sacks taken, touchdowns and interceptions. Where he has beaten Gabbert handily, though, is in yards per attempt and yards per game as he has been asked to throw much more than Gabbert has.
However, with Maurice Jones-Drew still out of the lineup for the Jaguars, Gabbert may be asked to take a heightened role as he did against the Green Bay Packers in Week 8 when he threw the ball 49 times and crossed the 300-yard mark for the first time in his career.
