Shahid Khan flew to interview Atlanta Falcons Personnel Director Dave Caldwell for the Jaguars General Manager position on Monday, just a few hours after Gene Smith was relieved from the position, according to a report from Jay Glazer of FOX Sports.
Caldwell is in his first season as the Personnel Director for the Falcons after he was promoted to the position in the 2012 offseason. Prior to his promotion, Caldwell served as the Director of College Scouting for the Falcons in the previous four seasons.
He first earned his start in the NFL as a scouting assistant with the Panthers before he was hired as an area scout for the Indianapolis Colts, where he worked 10 years.
