As we are a little over 24 hours away from NFL free agency and the NFL Salary Cap has been officially set, we now know the official cap number for all of the 32 franchises. The Jacksonville Jaguars officially have $40.6 million in cap room for 2012. The Jaguars have the fourth most room of all of the NFL franchises, with just the Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ahead of them.
This means the Jaguars have money to spend in free agency. While I don't expect the Jaguars to go out and sign five to six starters in free agency like last season, this does mean they have the cash to make a big splash or two in free agency. This means the Jaguars can be in play for someone like defensive end Mario Williams if they feel so inclined, which they should be. It will be interesting to see what happens on Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.
