Kassim Osgood Tweets That He Has Been Released By The Jaguars

According to Kassim Osgood, he will not be a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars next year and that he has been cut. Osgood, 31, was entering the third and final year of his contract with the Jaguars which was signed after he left the San Diego Chargers in free agency in 2010.

Osgood's impact with the Jaguars was predominantly on special teams, making hardly any impact as a receiver. After catching a touchdown in his first game in Jacksonville, Osgood never caught another touchdown with the team and had just five receptions in 2011. This led him to voice his frustrations with his role on the Jaguars through Twitter in October.

According to Tania Ganguli, Osgood's cap number was $2.933 million.
