2012 NFL Free Agency: Laurent Robinson Leaves Jacksonville

Update: Apparently Robinson has not left Jacksonville

It's usually said that when a free agent makes his visit you don't want to let him leave the facility without his signature on a contract. General manager Gene Smith made his appeal and it apparently wasn't enough to stop former-Cowboys wide receiver Laurent Robinson from leaving the Jaguars facility.

According to Mark Long of the Associated Press, Robinson left the Jaguars facility this afternoon and headed for Jacksonville airport.

While it's certainly not good news for the Jaguars that the player they're hoping to sign has left, it doesn't necessarily mean the door is closed. Tania Ganguli reported shortly after the reports of his departure that the Jaguars are still talking to Robinson and are hopeful they can sign him.
