NFL Free Agency: What's Left At Wide Receiver

The Jacksonville Jaguars have slowed down in NFL free agency after bringing back a couple of their own and signing wide receiver Laurent Robinson and back up quarterback Chad Henne. The Jaguars did bring back defensive end Jeremy Mincey, but there is still a need at the wide receiver position even with the addition of Laurent Robinson.

The Jaguars have said they're going to let the "market cool off" before they jump back into free agency, but there are still a couple of wide receivers available on the market who could be a fit for the Jaguars. As it stands right now, the receivers under contract with the Jaguars are Robinson, Mike Thomas, Chastin West, Taylor Price, Jarett Dillard, Cecil Shorts III, and Brian Robiskie.

So who's left?

There are still a couple of upper tier guys available on the market like Brandon Lloyd and Mario Manningham, but both have drawn interest for multiple teams and the word on the street is guys like Manningham are looking for number one receiver type money. Lloyd I believe is waiting for the quarterback market to settle before he decides where he's going, but I'd be surprised if the Jaguars showed interest. The team wasn't interested when the Broncos shipped him off for a conditional 6th round pick, so I doubt they'd be interested now.

Some other players on the market who could draw interest is someone like Early Doucet, who's spent his early seasons in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals. Doucet is coming off his best season playing out of the slot and is a possession type receiver who's tough and will go over the middle. A guy like Jerricho Cotchery is available as well as Jerome Simpson, but Simpson could be facing some legal issues stemming from an arrest earlier in the season.

Outside of that there are some guys like Legedu Naanee, Derek Hagan, Anthony Gonzalez, and Chansi Stuckey. Most of these players however are really just role players and the Jaguars have plenty of them on their roster already. I could see the Jaguars picking up one other receiver in free agency, but I tend to think they'll target a player in the early rounds to bring in and have a battle for the final two roster spots outside of Robinson, Thomas, and Shorts.
