In the days since an altercation at Pure Nightclub in Jacksonville in the early hours of Sunday's Easter morning, there has been much speculation about the extent of an eye injury suffered by Jaguars defensive tackle Terrance Knighton. While the exact details of the incident aren't known, what is known is that Knighton suffered a very serious eye injury that required emergency surgery on Sunday morning.
While there has been speculation that the injury could cause long-term damage and possibly end the career of the promising young defensive tackle, Florida Times-Union writer Tania Ganguli said otherwise in a tweet today.
Knighton's injury is serious, but should not be career threatening or cause long-term damage. #Jaguars

More details about Knighton's expected recovery time and possible availability for the 2012 season are still unknown, but the fact that no long-term damage was done is obviously good news for Knighton and the Jaguars.
