The Jacksonville Jaguars were the only team to openly volunteer to be on HBO's Hard Knocks program, which offers an inside view of an NFL team's training camp with behind the scenes video and interviews. The Atlanta Falcons turned down the chance to be on the show, but a team like the New York Jets are still in the running. HBO would like to make a decision on which team to feature by the end of May, according to Manish Mehta of The New York Daily News.
Typically filming promo videos for the program during a team's mini-camp, and most start their camps in mid-June. Deciding on a team by the end of May will give HBO plenty of time to get things ready and setup to begin promos. As far as we know, the Jaguars are still interested in being on the program, but HBO has not tipped their hand either way as to which team they will choose. Jets owner Woody Johnson has said he is interested in the team being on the show again, but both general manager Mike Tannenbaum and head coach Rex Ryan have reservations about being on the program again.
