Jaguars Already Road Dogs To Vikings

It's only May, but there are already betting lines hitting the Vegas and other places of gambling interest. As a matter of fact, there are already lines for all 16 NFL games for the 2012 NFL season. Naturally, the Jacksonville Jaguars are underdogs in virtually every game of the season, including their opening game on Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings on the road.

According to Covers, the Jaguars are currently +3.5 point underdogs. This is just a slight advantage for the Vikings, given the general rule of thumb that the hometeam gets three-points. The two teams are actually quite similar, with strong running games and young quarterbacks and good defenses. The big difference however is that the Vikings aren't sure about the status of their running back, Adrian Peterson, who tore his ACL late in the 2011 season. Peterson expects to be back, but I'd imagine this line will shift as we actually get close to the season.
