The Jacksonville Jaguars have a defensive line that has some talent on it, but a lot of it is unknown. The team brought back Jeremy Mincey in the offseason, who lead the team in sacks last year with eight. On the opposite side, the team is trying to determine if Austen Lane can be an effective starter and if rookie Andre Branch can help close some of the "close" sacks for the team. The big question is on the interior line however, as the two starting defensive tackles in Terrance Knighton and Tyson Alualu are waiting to be medically cleared.
As it's the season for rankings, we move on to defensive line rankings to see the unit ranked by SB Nation's Ryan Van Bibber.
18. Jacksonville Jaguars
Jeremy Mincey's eight-sack season was rewarded with a four-year, $27 million extension. It could prove to be a bargain for Jacksonville. Second-round pick Andre Branch adds an explosive pass rusher opposite Mincey. Terrance Knighton has been a force against the run. The real question for the Jags is whether or not Tyson Alualu can get past his status as a "WTF pick" at tenth overall in 2010.
I can't argue with this ranking too much, as I mentioned before given the question marks along the defensive line.
