Since tearing his ACL on December 24, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has been on the rehab trail with the hopes of being ready for the regular season opener against the Jaguars on September 9. It's certainly no easy task to come back from one of sports' roughest injuries in just over eight months, but according to fellow Vikings RB Toby Gerhart, Peterson is going to do that.

Talking to ESPN Radio in Twin Cities, Gerhart says he thinks the four-time All-Pro will be back in time to play the Jaguars in week one. Via NFL.com:

"I think he will be," Gerhart said. "You can never be surprised with Adrian. The way he comes to work every day, the way he pushes himself. I mean, he was flying around, straight-line speed, moving out there. Racing Percy (Harvin) up the hill, doing conditioning stuff. I haven't seen him in a couple of weeks now, but I'm sure he's continued to make leaps and bounds in progress."
