According to the Florida Times-Union, Jaguars rookie wide receiver Justin Blackmon has plead Guilty to DUI.
For his guilty plea, Judge Michael Stano issued a deferred sentence of one year, that includes a fine of $500 and a required 50 hours of community service.
Blackmon will not serve any jail time. He was not present at court for his hearing, with his attorney, Chelsey Ramsey acting on his behalf.
Though he will not serve any time in jail, it is still yet to be determined what, if any, punishment will be levied by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. It is thought that since the arrest was Blackmon's first official charge for DUI, the league will impose a fine, with admission into the league's substance abuse program, but no loss of game time.
Blackmon remains unsigned, with the Jaguars set to report to camp in two days. It is thought that offset language in his contract is a point of contention between the team and his agent. Though it's been reported that talks have begun between the two sides, the guilty plea likely won't help Blackmon's cause.
