The Jacksonville Jaguars have waived veteran wide receiver Lee Evans on Sunday, according to a report by Vito Stellino of The Florida Times-Union.
Re the answer to the question of why Lee Evans didn't playSaturday night, he was waived today.

It's not really much of a surprise that Evans was waived by the Jaguars, but the timing of it is what's a bit of a surprise. Evans dressed for Friday evening's game against the New York Giants but didn't get on the football field. Evans hadn't really done too much in training camp or mini-camp either, so his position on the team was shaky at best.
It was unlikely Evans was going to make the roster, but a good showing by guys like Mike Thomas and Brian Robiskie on Friday evening, as well as Justin Blackmon signing last week likely made Evans more than expendable.
