The Jacksonville Jaguars signed first-round pick Justin Blackmon last week, but decided to sit him out of the Friday night matchup with the New York Giants. Fast forward to Sunday, and Blackmon was able to fully participate in practice and the Jaguars wasted no time running him with the first team offense.

"I’m trying to get him reps, as many reps as we can with Blaine," head coach Mike Mularkey said after practice. "He’s got to hear those plays and rep those plays as quickly and as fast as we can get him going."

Given what we saw from the Jaguars offense on Friday, Justin Blackmon's talents should fit right in with what the Jaguars are doing offensively. Blackmon's biggest appeal is his catch radius and his ability to take shorter passes and pick up yards after the catch.

"I want to keep improving and get better every snap," Blackmon said after practice. "I just want to get out and make as few mistakes as possible."

Mularkey indicated the goal is to have Blackmon ready to go by Week 1 of the regular season and that he will play against the New Orleans Saints on Friday.
