As if this week hasn't already been a busy one down at EverBank Field, following their third pre-season game tomorrow against the Baltimore Ravens, the team must begin the process of trimming down the roster to the eventual final 53 players who'll be Jaguars come September 9th for the start of the regular season.
While in the past few years eliminating players from the team has been a relatively simple task this year's roster, while not filled to the brim with All-Pro players, is loaded with talented depth at most positions, making it a tough task for Mike Mularkey's staff and General Manager Gene Smith.
Having said that, the cuts must be made. So here is who I believe the likely candidates will be for "The Turk" to come calling for come this weekend. The team must have it's roster down to 75 players by 4 P.M. EST on Monday, August 27th. Though if history holds true, the Jaguars tend to be early with their releases.
Players Projected to be Released:
Kendrick Adams, DE (ps)
Antonio Dennard, CB (ps)
Nate Enderle, QB
DuJuan Harris, RB
Dan Hoch, OT (ps)
Rod Isaac, S
Joshua Jones, LB (ps)
Trumaine McBride, CB
Odrick Ray, DL
Donovan Richard, LB
Leigh Torrence, CB
Demetrius Williams, WR
* Injury Exceptions (Teams are allowed to count players yet to return from PUP towards trimming roster number):
John Chick, DE
Clint Session, LB
