Following a report that the Jaguars claimed tight end Brett Brackett from the Philadelphia Eagles, Mark Long of the Associated Press reports that the Jaguars have waived/injured tight end Zach Miller.
Miller, a sixth round selection by the Jaguars in 2009 NFL Draft, is a tremendously gifted athlete that has had horrible injury luck throughout his entire career and has struggled to stay on the field. In three season with the Jaguars, Miller accumulated 45 receptions for 470 yards and five touchdowns, but missed 12 games in the 2011 season. After a hamstring injury hampered his 2012 training camp, Miller got hurt again during the preseason just three snaps into his first game back from injury.
If he goes unclaimed on waivers, Miller would then revert back to the Jaguars injured reserve, but his rookie contract is set to expire at the end of the season so the preseason may have been Miller's last time in a Jaguars uniform.
