Daryl Smith Injury: Jaguars LB Not Expected To Play Vs. Colts

Ow, my groin.
Ow, my groin.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been dealing with injuries at key positions, including with linebacker Daryl Smith. Smith has been dealing with a groin injury that has kept him out since training camp, including the first two games of the regular season.

Unfortunately, Smith isn't expected to play again on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts and the Jaguars aren't going to rush him back to the lineup.

"Daryl Smith probably will be a little more of work out on the field but not going to push him," Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey told reporters on Monday. "I would not expect him to play."

Smith absence from the lineup has been notable, especially with all of the missed tackles by the linebackers and breakdowns in coverages over the middle of the field. It was clear early on with the Houston Texans that they were going to come in and attack the Jaguars linebackers opening up with early play-action and screen plays.
