The Jaguars have been shuffling the back end of their roster and practice squad the past couple of weeks, picking up some players for a week or so and then replacing them. The Jaguars made another move on Wednesday according to Mark Long of the Associated Press, signing former Alabama linebacker Jerrell Harris to their practice squad and waiving linebacker Mike Mohamed.
Harris went undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft, but signed as a free agent with the Atlanta Falcons before being released during the final roster cut of the 2012 preseason.
Harris notched 145 tackles (97 solo), 16 tackles for loss, four forced fumbles, and three recovered fumbles as a senior on Alabama's defense. As a junior, Harris picked up 130 tackles, three interceptions and two sacks for the Crimson tide.
The 6-foot-3, 242 pound linebacker played in all four of the Falcons preseason games, picking up just two total tackles through the four preseason games, playing sparingly.
