Two of David Caldwell's former bosses react to the Jaguars hiring him as their new general manager.

The Jacksonville Jaguars hired their new general manager on Tuesday and plan to introduce him at a press conference on Thursday afternoon. Caldwell has extension experience working under two successful general managers during his time working as a scout and in NFL front offices, working under both Bill Polian and Thomas Dimitroff. Oddly enough, Polian and Dimitroff seem to be an example of both the new and old guard of team builders, so learning from both should go quite a long way.

Current Atlanta Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff reacts to the hire:

"Dave has been an integral member of our scouting department and has demonstrated excellent leadership as the director of college scouting and as the director of player personnel. I have complete confidence in Dave, and I know that he will excel in his new role as the General Manager of the Jacksonville Jaguars."

Former Carolina Panthers and Indianapolis Colts general manager Bill Polian reacts to the hire:

"I'm thrilled that the Jaguars have hired David Caldwell as their general manager. I had the pleasure of working with him for over 15 years and I know he's well-prepared for the task at hand. The Jaguars have made a great selection and I know Jacksonville fans will be pleased with the team David assembles for them."
