Upon the breaking news that Mike Mularkey was fired on Thursday morning as head coach of the Jaguars, the team's fans on Twitter reacted. Following a 2-14 season, the worst in franchise history, it wasn't particularly surprising to see a mostly positive reaction to the news, although many were cautiously optimistic about the news.
Caldwell hasn't even been announced as the GM and he's made his first dismissal. I like this guy's moxie

Jags fired the coach and the GM this offseason. Time for a clean slate and to start over. Success is on the horizon! #JagNation

So let's keep this next head coach around for a very long time. These firings are a sign of weakness and failure. No more! #Jaguars

Things are going too right. It's time for Tebow.

Firing Mularkey means nothing if the next coach fails. Yes it had to be done but I won't take an In Caldwell We Trust approach.

I feel bad for the man but it had to be done. No more half assing things for the #Jaguars.

Also chiming in about the firing news was the team's mascot, Jaxson DeVille, although he certainly took a more diplomatic approach.
Excited for the future but sad to see a great guy go. I want to thank Coach Mularkey for his friendship and I wish him and his family well.

Action Sports 360 in Jacksonville and our own, Alfie Crow, contributed to the Twitter talk as well.
Mularkey's two NFL gigs end up being land mines for any possible success.Buffalo turned bad - Jags, well you know what its been like.

Mike Mularkey was hired on 1/11/12, he didn't make it a full calendar year as the #Jaguars head coach
