The Jacksonville Jaguars held a press conference on Thursday afternoon to introduce new general manager David Caldwell to fans and media. It didn't take long for the first question to Caldwell about New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow, who's constantly mentioned with the Jaguars.
As expected however, Caldwell declined to speak about the Jets backup quarterback.
"He is a member of the New York Jets so I cant imagine a scenario where he would be a Jacksonville Jaguar," Caldwell said. A reporter asked Caldwell to report what he said, to which he responded, "I can't imagine a scenario where Tim Tebow would be a Jacksonville Jaguar."
"Even if he's released," Caldwell added.
The Tebow to Jaguars connection has been linked repeatedly because he is from the Jacksonville area and because of the mass of Florida Gators fans and Jaguars fans who are also Tebow fans.
With Caldwell's press conference, hopefully the long linkage of Tebow to the Jaguars can finally be put to rest, but somehow I doubt that will be the case. As it stands right now however, Tebow won't be on the Jaguars.
