New Jaguars GM David Caldwell says he will address the position and bring in more quarterback talent for an "open competition."

One of the biggest questions regarding the Jacksonville Jaguars is the quarterback position and it is still very unclear who the starter will be for the Jaguars on Week 1; however, new general manager David Caldwell shed some light on the position moving forward and didn't rule out the possibility that 2011 first round selection, Blaine Gabbert, could still be the team's quarterback.

"Well Blaine [Gabbert] is the second youngest quarterback in the NFL," Caldwell said. "We plan to address the quarterback position. We'll be an open competition and we'll bring in more people to compete, whether that's through the draft or free agency. We also have Chad [Henne], but we will have an open competition at the position."

Gabbert started in 10 games for the Jaguars before going to injured reserve with right forearm and left shoulder injuries. He completed 58.3 percent of his passes for 1,662 yards with nine touchdowns and six interceptions. Henne started in six games and completed 53.9 percent of his passes for 2,083 yards with 11 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
