Jacksonville Jaguars general manager David Caldwell slammed the door on New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow coming to the Jaguars in his introductory press conference, because he has other quarterbacks in mind for the team.
"I have others in mind and I’m comfortable with what’s here," Caldwell told reporters on Thursday. Caldwell indicated that he has some quarterbacks in mind that can be acquired via trade, free agency, or in the NFL Draft in April.
The Jaguars hold the No. 2 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft as well as the No. 33 overall pick, the first pick in the second round, where Caldwell can virtually choose whatever quarterback he wants if the NFL Draft is where he wants to find his guy.
As far as the free agency front, there aren't a lot of inspiring names out there currently but some "bandaid" players like Alex Smith or Carson Palmer could wind up as salary casualties and hit the free agent market.
