As the Jaguars seem increasingly close to hiring Atlanta Falcons Director of Player Personnel Dave Caldwell as their new general manager, the signs are pointing towards Cardinals Vice President of Player Personnel Steve Keim staying in Arizona. Most notably, Albert Breer of NFL Network reports that Keim has had a hand in the interviewing of a new head coach for the Cardinals.
Keim has been considered one of the two finalists for the Jaguars GM position, but his involvement in the hiring of a new coach of the Cardinals would suggest that he still has a future with the team.
He has spent his entire NFL career with the Cardinals and just finished his 14th season with the team and first year as the team's vice president of player personnel. He had previously served as the team's director of college scouting and director of player personnel.
The Jaguars fired Gene Smith from the general manager position on Monday, Dec. 31.
