Jaguars trade Eugene Monroe to Ravens for 'multiple draft picks'

New, comments

The Jaguars have sent Eugene Monreo to the Ravens for multiple draft picks, according to reports.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have traded offensive tackle Eugene Monroe to the Baltimore Ravens, pending a physical, and the compensation appears to be "multiple draft picks" according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

My guess would be the Jaguars get somewhere in the second- or third-round range along with another mid-round pick for Monroe, who's still one of the better left tackles in the NFL and only 26 years old.

With the trade, this means that beginning tomorrow the Jaguars will slide first round draft pick Luke Joeckel to the left side of the offensive line, which is his natural position, rather than continuing on with him at the right tackle spot. I would presume this means Cameron Bradfield will be the team's starting right tackle.

Update:

Being at best a fourth-round pick puts a little bit of a damper on the deal, but then again it's pretty clear the Jaguars weren't going to keep Monroe either, so something is better than nothing.
