Jaguars vs. Broncos: Second half game thread

The Jaguars aren't losing! Well they are losing, but not really that bad. It's almost like they're winning. Kinda.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars aren't winning in Denver, but boy have they looked better than everyone thought they would, as they head into the locker room trailing 14-12.

Leading the way for the Jaguars was a strong first half performance by the defense, recovering from two early touchdowns to force two three-and-out punts and recover a botched snap fumble by the Broncos. While Peyton Manning managed to complete 12-of-20 passes in the first half, the Jaguars managed to limit the big plays and Paul Posluszny managed to pull in an interception in the final minute of the half that he returned 59 yards for a score.

On offense, the Jaguars recovered from an early shoulder injury for Cecil Shorts III by feeding Justin Blackmon often, as the second-year receiver racked up seven receptions for 82 yards. Slowing the offensive progress was a lack of a rush game, as Maurice Jones-Drew was unable to break free for much room at all.

Were it not for a failed fake punt attempt and a botched hold on a field goal attempt, the Jaguars could easily be leading.
