Justin Blackmon of Jacksonville Jaguars expected to play - ESPN
The Jacksonville Jaguars will have receiver Justin Blackmon for Sunday's game against San Diego, and there's a good chance they'll have receiver Cecil Shorts, too. Coach Gus Bradley said Friday that he held Blackmon (hamstring, groin injuries) out of practice for the second time this week as a precautionary measure. Blackmon also didn't practice Wednesday; he was limited on Thursday. "We feel better about Justin Blackmon," Bradley said. "He got quite a few reps yesterday and we wanted to make sure that he would be available on Sunday."
Inside the Jaguars: Shorts thinks he’ll play
Cecil Shorts III doesn’t know with absolute certainty if he will play Sunday. He does know he’ll play if it’s at all possible. Shorts, whose status for Sunday has been in doubt all week because of a sprained SC (shoulder) joint, worked on a limited basis Friday as the Jaguars went through their last full practice preparing to play San Diego Sunday in Jacksonville. Shorts said after practice he thinks he’ll play against the Chargers. "I’m not the guy to make predictions," Shorts said as the Jaguars (0-6) prepared to play the Chargers (3-3) at EverBank Field Sunday at 1 p.m.
