Jaguars rookie Denard Robinson still trying to fit in | jacksonville.com

A month into the season, Jaguars rookie Denard Robinson has more lost fumbles than yards of total offense. The fifth-round pick billed by the Jaguars as an offensive weapon has accounted for minus-1 yard through the team’s first four games, all losses. When asked about Robinson Thursday, Jaguars offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch reviewed Robinson’s gaffes with an obvious tone of frustration."We’ve got to figure out what Denard can do best," Fisch said in closing.

Inside the Jaguars: Jones-Drew, Poz appreciated gesture

Maurice Jones-Drewappreciated the gesture. Very much. In the wake of trading Eugene Monroe to Baltimore this week, Jaguars General Manager David Caldwell spoke to not only Jones-Drew – the team’s three-time Pro Bowl running back – but middle linebacker Paul Posluszny. The idea was to explain the situation, to assure the two they were a part of the team’s plans for the season, and to say he liked the duo’s leadership.

Jaguars expect WR Shorts to play against Rams

Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Cecil Shorts III is expected to play Sunday at St. Louis. Shorts sat out practice Friday with a groin injury, but coach Gus Bradley says the team's leading receiver should play against the Rams. Shorts tweaked his groin during a walkthrough Wednesday, and the team has been cautious with him since. Shorts has 26 receptions for 337 yards this season. The Jaguars hope the return of receiver Justin Blackmon from a four-game suspension will take some pressure off Shorts and maybe open up room for running back Maurice Jones-Drew.
