Which Cardinals player would Jaguars fans take?

With the Jacksonville Jaguars taking on the Arizona Cardinals at EverBank Field on Sunday, looking at their roster, which player would you choose?

Christian Petersen

Each week we take a look at the other team's roster to try to find a player we'd like to pluck and add to the Jacksonville Jaguars roster. This week the team takes on the Arizona Cardinals, who have a handful of players that I think could be good additions to the Jaguars roster.

I went back and forth between two players, one of which was Tyrann Mathieu. The rookie defensive back has been a play maker for the Cardinals defense and would fit right in at the nickel spot for the Jaguars, but the Cardinals have something the Jaguars do not.

A pass rush.

Which is precisely why I picked the player the Jaguars should have drafted in the 2008 NFL Draft, when they traded up for Derrick Harvey. Calais Campbell is second on the Cardinals in sacks in 2013 and quarterback pressures, with close to double the pressures of the best pass rusher on the Jaguars. He does all this from the 3-4 defensive end position, too.

Campbell would fit perfectly in the Jaguars defensive scheme at the five-technique role and even sliding inside on passing downs to rush from the interior. Since his second year in the NFL, Campbell has netted at least six sacks every season and is on pace to do so once more, all on a three-down lineman defensive front. At only 27 years old, Campbell could add a lot to the Jaguars defense.
