Buccaneers sign Lonnie Pryor, per report

The Buccaneers have signed Jaguars fullback Lonnie Pryor off their practice squad, according to a report.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed fullback Lonnie Pryor off the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad, according to a report by Jenna Laine of NBC Sports 1080 in Tampa. Pryor has spent all season on the Jaguars practice squad, with the thought that he would figure into the team's plans next season, but he's apparently now headed to Tampa Bay.

Pryor was originally signed by the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent after finishing his college career with the Florida State Seminoles where he played both fullback and running back. He was thought to be a factor in the offense going forward because of his ability to both lead block and catch the ball out of the backfield, but couldn't beat out Will Ta'ufo'ua for the final roster spot at the position.

According to Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union, the Jaguars were willing to move Pryor to the active roster to block the move, but he chose to move on to the Bucs, where he'll likely get more playing time. The team apparently might have been willing to release Justin Forsett in favor of Pryor, but we'll never know for sure.

Ain't no baby, world.
