The Jacksonville Jaguars have been rolling with Chad Henne at quarterback for the past few weeks with some up and down play. Nothing has epitomized that like the past three weeks, though Henne ended the day against the Houston Texans in the Jaguars second win with what most people would call a "good" game, or in more realistic terms; He wasn't awful.
Henne has been good enough for the Jaguars in his current span that they're not ready to go back to Blaine Gabbert just yet.
"I talked to Blaine last week about being ready for his opportunities if they should exist, if we felt like we need a jolt or the opportunity presents itself to go in the game I would not hesitate to do that," Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley said on Monday.
It's going to take a lot for Gabbert to get back in though, unless it's because of injury.
"It's not going to be from Chad throwing one interception or we have two three-and-outs in a row, but it's just more of a feeling that I have that maybe we need to try it and get him in the game," Bradley said.
It appears that the Blaine Gabbert era in Jacksonville will come to an unceremonious end at the conclusion of the 2013 season. The vast majority of people feel that the Jaguars will have a new starting quarterback in 2014 and it wouldn't make a ton of sense to bring him back, even as a back up, next season.
