Jaguars vs. Titans 2013: Sen'Derrick Marks returns to Tennessee

Jaguars defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks returns to Tennessee to face the team who drafted him, but says he hold no bad feelings towards the Titans organization.

The Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans are two franchises very familiar with one another, but surprisingly there isn't a lot of player swapping that you sometimes see in other divisions.

Sometimes you'll see players stick to divisions and get gobbled up by the other teams, for familiarity sake and sometimes because teams run similar schemes. For the first time in a while, one of the key pieces of the Jaguars will be returning to play against one of his former teams, and defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks is looking forward to it.

Marks, to his surprise, ended up leaving the Titans in free agency over the summer after the team didn't offer him anything close to the type of contract he was looking for. He says he doesn't offer any ill-will towards the Titans organization, just that he wished they were more upfront with him about their future plans.

"Everything I got from them was that they wanted to go bigger at the position-that's why they went out and got Sammie Hill. I was cool with what happened,'' Marks told Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean. "The only thing I wish would have happened is they would have just told me that, ‘Hey, we want to go big at the nose guard position.' I'm cool with it."

The Jaguars picked up Marks in the offseason on a one-year, $1.5 million "prove it" type deal and so far on the season he's delivered. Marks has been the Jaguars best and most consistent pass rusher, overall, tied for the team lead in sacks and second on the team in quarterback hits and hurries.

While the Jaguars have stated they don't plan on extending any contracts until the conclusion of the 2013 season, Marks could be a guy who plays his way into a new deal, be it from the Jaguars or somewhere else.
