The Jacksonville Jaguars could be without wide receiver Cecil Shorts III this weekend against the Buffalo Bills, as the wide out has been dealing with a groin injury that flared up again this week.
"There are a lot of things going on [with the groin]; it showed some stuff," Shorts told The Florida Times-Union. "I'm going to try. If I can, I can; if I can't, I can't. I'll be upset, but we have two more weeks after that."
Shorts is officially listed as "questionable" for Sunday's game, but the thought is he will still be a game time decision and even if he's active he could be limited on the field. Shorts is the Jaguars leading receiver in both yards and receptions, but the groin injury isn't one that should end his 2013 campaign early, but it appears it could require offseason surgery according to Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union.
Shorts missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, was limited Friday and is listed as questionable to play Sunday. Shorts underwent an MRI exam earlier this week, which confirmed he will need surgery after the season.
