Jaguars vs. Colts 2013: First half game thread

Join the BCC community to discuss the first half of a Week 17 matchup between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts.

Phil Sears-USA TODAY Sports

The 2013 season will end for the Jaguars on Sunday and in hindsight it certainly could've and probably should've been much worse than a four- or five-win season. With a rebuild in its beginning stages, the Jaguars started the season with blowout after blowout before finding a rhythm in the latter half of the year to claw out of last place.

One of the early season blowouts was to the Indianapolis Colts, who defeated the Jaguars 37-3 in Week 4, dominating in every aspect of the game. While the Jaguars aren't playing like the same team that was so easily cast aside in September, they'll still have their hands full against an Indianapolis team that is on its way to the postseason and still has a chance to earn a bye in the first round of the playoffs.

For the Jaguars, all eyes will be on what the order looks like in the 2014 NFL Draft following Week 17. With a loss to the Colts, the Jaguars will select second or third in the draft, depending only on the result of the Redskins' result against the Giants. With a win, the Jaguars will select anywhere from third to eighth.

Also at stake on Sunday is the final home opponent for the Jaguars in 2013. The team has clinched third in the AFC South, meaning in 2014 they will host the team that finishes third in the AFC East; however, the Dolphins, Jets and Bills could all still finish third.
