The Jacksonville Jaguars have been starting with a pair of rookie safeties since veteran Dwight Lowery went down in Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks. Josh Evans and Jonathan Cyprien have had their share of growing pains, but they've also started to get their feet under them and make plays. Unfortunately for Evans, he suffered an elbow and shoulder injury against the Browns, knocking him out of the game.

In his Tuesday press conference, Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley went ahead and ruled Evans out for Thursday night's game against the Houston Texans, meaning that backup safety Winston Guy will get the starting nod.

Guy filled in nicely for Evans against the Browns, despite drawing a very debatable personal foul call for a hit on Josh Gordon, knocking him out of the game for a drive or two. Guy has also been seeing a lot of action in the Jaguars three-safety sets, or "heavy nickel" role, and rotating snaps with Josh Evans.

With Guy in the starting lineup and Evans ruled out and likely inactive, it's one step closer to Chris Prosinski seeing the field again.
