Luke Joeckel injury: Jaguars OT gets cast off, to begin weight bearing exercises

The Jacksonville Jaguars lost rookie left tackle Luke Joeckel just a few days after trading away veteran left tackle Eugene Monroe. Joeckel broke his ankle against the St. Louis Rams and was placed on injured reserve shortly after.

On Tuesday afternoon, Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell told SiruisXM's Alex Marvez that Joeckel will have his cast removed on Wednesday and begin weight bearing exercises for the first time. Joeckel was placed on full season IR however, so he cannot come back in 2013.

All indications are that Joeckel will be ready to get on the field by the time OTAs roll around and there should be no long term issues from the injury.
