Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew suffered a foot injury early in the season, which wound up causing him to miss the final 10 games of the season. Early on it was feared that Jones-Drew might have the dreaded Lisfranc injury, but he claims that's not the case.
Jones-Drew told Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union that his injury was a "mid-foot fracture", but because head coach Mike Mularkey would never elaborate on the actual injury that's all we have to go on.
"I don't feel like this injury is going to slow me down," Jones-Drew told O'Halloran in New Orleans. "I just have to train. I want to get back and play."
Current expectations have Jones-Drew back on the field sometime in late May or early June, but as it stands right now he's still wheeling around on a trike and not putting any pressure on his injured foot. Jones-Drew had surgery to repair his foot a month ago.
