Laurent Robinson concussion: Jaguars WR cleared to play

Jaguars wide receiver Laurent Robinson suffered four concussions in 2012.

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Laurent Robinson suffered a total of four concussions during the 2012 NFL season and was experiencing concussion like symptoms as late as January of 2013. Robinson has been cleared for full go however, according to Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell at the NFL combine.

"From my understanding, he’s been cleared to participate so he’s full go right now," Caldwell told the media at his press conference on Friday. "It’s something we’re going to monitor very closely with all our players."

The Jaguars signed Robinson last year to a big contract in free agency, as the team was desperate for a wide receiver. The team also traded up for Justin Blackmon in the NFL Draft and saw Cecil Shorts III emerge as a viable threat.

Robinson being cleared is a big deal, because if he can come back and play at full speed, the Jaguars could have a nice trio of wide receivers for their quarterback to work with. Robinson played just seven games last season, finishing with 24 receptions for 252 yards.
